Thijmen Dam was born and raised in the Netherlands and is currently living in Groningen. He studies Information Science and was looking for a topic for his bachelor thesis when he was introduced to Professor Michel Vols. Spring forwards half a year, and he can happily say he successfully finished his thesis on predicting the outcome of Dutch eviction cases using machine learning and pre-trial information. For the EVICT project he will continue research on this topic, as well as work on the automatic extraction of eviction-related cases based on natural language in court cases.
