EVICT Talk with Dr. Irina Domurath – Housing Between EU and Local Law
May 21st, 2021
In her talk “Housing as a ‘Double Irritant’ in EU Law: Towards an SGEI between Markets and Local Needs”, Dr. Domurath invites discussion on the clash between urban, local housing needs and EU law. The problem is that top-down internal-market-oriented EU law disregards the special needs of local, urban housing sectors. It proposes that regarding housing as a special public services, along the lines of SGEI, could help to reconcile these tensions.
